Top 5 RPG Games of All Time

1. Final Fantasy VII

My favourite game of all time (yes over hyped these days with all the spin-offs) but I can not fault it. I love everything about it, I actually like the old chunky block graphics! I used to want a remake of this in HD but now I think no, leave it alone, it's a masterpiece already. As much as I would love to see it re-made I fear with the way Square are at the moment they may ruin it!

I am not saying I would not jump with excitement if they did remake it but I don't want them to ruin it, I do still play this game (I can't seem to stop) and I do go through the game imagining it in the graphics of Advent Children now which is why a remake would be good if they didn't change any of the story or combat! I actually think it would be great if they did add a little something to the remake, and that's the arena/side missions. I think if they added more to do there it would not ruin the game at all, just giving us something extra to do after the main story has being done (now I know there is a lot already but imagine being able to do more with the arena, imagine being able to go online with that and fight real people!). Anyways not going to say anymore about this game as I could literally type away for hours!

2. Xenogears

What to say about this game...It's just amazing end of! It's a little different from your normal RPG in terms of combat. It's got the basic RPG system there with a twist, it's a few button combinations in the combat. The only way I could describe it would be to say it's what a martial arts RPG would be like. You basically create attack combinations with the square, triangle and cross buttons with triangle being the weakest, square being medium strength and cross being the strongest.

Each attack takes up some points to perform with the weaker ones taking less points and the stronger ones taking more points. As you level up you get more points and you can build bigger combos. That is just the combat on foot! You also get to fight in Gears! these are mahoooosive (massive) robots that you can get in and pilot. This in itself is very fun as you almost feel like a god (or is that just me? haha). Unfortunately this game is un-released in the UK so a lot of people do not know about it unless you are a serious RPG fan. I highly recommended this game to everyone I talk to! I am always going on about it.

3. Chrono Trigger

A classic! Shame I didn't play it back then though. I recently played this on the DS and I loved every minute of it! The music is really good too, and I don't usually comment that much on the music of a game but this one was something else. I don't know how but it made me feel nostalgic and like I had played the game before (even though I had not!). It's got a great story and the gameplay is fantastic for old school RPG fans. All I can say is buy this little gem, you won't regret it!

4. White Knight Chronicles

This game is the best RPG this generation! Do not listen to the critics or any bad reviews about it. It's amazing, I would prefer the combat to be more like Dragon Quest or the older Final Fantasy Games however it's still great for what it is and the fact that it is an old school style RPG (i.e not too much action RPG). The best thing about this game is all the RPG elements it contains that RPGS this gen just do not have. It has an amazing gripping Storyline, it has TOWNS/SHOPS!! (Ok sorry I had to shout there because new RPGS this gen are seriously lacking in this and it just feels right having them!)

It's also got a nice customisation system which every RPG needs in my opinion. A good system backs up the game, if you are like me then in your RPG's you will love to be able to customise your characters and their skills/weapons. When I feel like I have the choice to this is when I love it. This game ticks everything an RPG should have in my opinion. Critics get away just because it's not doing anything new does not make it a bad game. It's doing what it should, Level 5 actually know what fans want, and they actually come through on this and provide it! I will continue to support Level 5 as every game I have played from them in the past few years has being nothing short of amazing!

5. Dragon Quest IX

This game looks absolutely terrible if you see the TV Advert. What on earth were they thinking! The advert showcases it as some stupid looking fashion gimmick! They show you some people changing the outfit of the characters and some random person is like "oh I like his shoes" blaa blaa blaa...If I was new to Dragon Quest and seen that I would be like "what the hell, this looks terrible" but I already know they are amazing games so I ignored the stupid advert. Haha now that the rant is out-of-the-way let's talk about the game more. Although this game in the series was meant to be aimed more at multiplayer it can be played solo and does work perfectly fine solo.

Honestly it felt just like a normal solo game to me because I never played it multiplayer once! I might of if I had the choice but usually I like to play my games alone. The only reason I never tried is due to my DS not being able to connect to my Wi-Fi as the Security is not supported by the DS (terrible!). This meant I missed out on a shop in the game that needed Wi-Fi too but nevermind. I am not going to faff about disabling my Wi-Fi Protection all the time just for that. Gameplay wise, it's like every other Dragon Quest...SIMPLE but WORKS! At the moment I can not get enough of Dragon Quest, I am absolutely loving them. I have just completed this one and have now started number VIII which I am also loving. The difference in this one is the visuals/graphics. This was not a port it was a brand new game and I must say the animation and graphics are great.

I love the effect when a fireball is shot at you and one of your characters block it with their shield! This looks so good, it's the first time I have noticed this but it looked better to me than some effects in HD games! Well these are my favourite so far, the list may change to a top ten soon. I used to be a big Square Enix fan as you can probably tell from the above list but as of late they have being terrible! Level 5 are currently my favourite RPG gods at the moment. White Knight Chronicles ticks every box an RPG should. It's a shame the critics hate on it because it's the only RPG this generation that I have really enjoyed. A few other games worth mentioning are Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia 1 and 2. Maybe they will make my top ten! Once I complete them I will let you all know!

Jet Fighter Games

This is a comprehensive and easy to read list of good jet fighter games. This list will appeal to the tastes of any fan who enjoy fighter jet games, or flying games in general.

Out of the many popular games for jet fighter fans, Ace Combat 6 is currently one of the most played. Some of the highlights of this game include fast paced, intense fighting, along with highly detailed and strategic game play. Ace Combat 6 will keep you busy dodging and ducking and at the same time trying to focus in on your target, all while watching your radar and screen for incoming missiles.

Ace Combat 6 also has an interesting story line that will keep most users interested in the single play mode for long periods of time, allowing you to enjoy your time spent in the game. Single player mode also allows you to unlock and buy new jets and weapons for use by you and your wing man.

Free Falcon 5 is the free version of Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, it has upgraded features at the cost of system stability during play. This is a computer simulation game so it would help to have a medium cost computer if possible.

Free Falcon 5 offers a highly detailed level of game play that will make you feel very much like a real air force pilot. The actual game play experience will involve many actions a real pilot would take, such as operating the complex radar computer displays.
A final jet game that is worth noting here is After Burner. This is an old school game, and is now consider a classic. It is one of the most popular jet fighter game made, and is still a quality game. After burner puts in controller of one of several fighter jets, and allows you to shoot down many times of aircraft in a High speed and interactive on rails shooter style. PC Vs Console Gaming

In the gaming world, there are several options to choose from when it comes to the platform the game is being played on. There are PC games, and there are console games. The difference lies within the way the game is played.

Gaming is literally a lifestyle choice so each person prefers a slightly different approach when it comes to the way they play a game. Some like computer games, because computers allow them to customize the way they play the game along with certain tweaks in visual details and controls.

Consoles don't demand that you make such tweaks, since they're built with only games in mind. So when a game comes out and it's destined for PlayStation, then, if you own such a console, you're certain you can play that game.
But when a game comes out and it's made for PCs, then you have to check on what the system requirements that game has in order to be played properly. Since games rely heavily on the specs, or hardware of the "console" they're run, for PC users this would mean there's a constant struggle to stay ahead of the gaming developer world and build or purchase the ultimate gaming computer.

In certain cases, it's a lot easier to escape this struggle by purchasing a console and not having to worry if your system meets the necessary minimum hardware in order to run a game.

The downside to consoles is, in my opinion, the lack of precision in movements and control. For instance, if you were to play a shooter game or FPS for short, it would be really hard to aim at the opponents using a game pad.

On the other hand, when using a computer, it's really easy to aim using your mouse at the opponents since you can fine tune the mouse sensitivity and actually get the mouse to work at what speed you require.

Some peripherals allow you to adjust that sensitivity right in the gaming environment and those are called gaming peripherals. These are built only with PCs in mind.

Consoles on the other hand have developed in recent years to create a more engaging environment for the player.
We have seen a lot of new advancements in this area from the Wii remote, allowing you to physically "swing" a golf club, or in the Kinect world, actually detecting your body movements to interact in the gaming world. This means that a console user might get a bit more exercise than a regular PC gamer.

Also, there are certain games which might not work on consoles, like strategy games. These games rely heavily on the use of a computer mouse for unit selection and issuing commands.

There are a lot of advantages to PC gaming as well as console gaming, and there are specific games that can be played on both platforms, without the possibility of moving from one type to the other. It's a matter of level of engagement or immersion that each gamer requires that he get from the game itself.

We, Markets, have made a page about this specific topic entitled: PC Versus Console Gaming with more detailed information about the advantages and disadvantages of both types of platforms.

Four Tips Help You to Be a Healthy Gamer

With the development of the high-technology in our society, the games have changed a lot. Different from the games we played in the past, now video games are very hot and popular among public, especially among the young generation. Games can bring people joy and make them feel relaxed, which must be a good aspect of games. Also there are some gamers who addicted to the games deeply and always stay up, which is bad for their health. It will cause the decline of your immunity. It can also cause the endocrine disorders. The female gamers, who is always stay up late, will find that their skins are dry and lusterless. To enjoy the games more, they need to pay more attention to the health problem.

At first, gamers should avoid staying up in playing games to their best potential. Gamers are supposed to choose the proper time to play games. If possible, try to do it in the daytime.

Second, for those gamers who stay up frequently, they should complement more nutrition. They should eat more food with high protein, fat and Vitamin, such as milk, beef, pork, fish, beans and so on. Besides, eating some dried fruits are very necessary, such as nuts, peanuts, dates and so on, because they have the anti-fatigue effects.

Third, gamers had better not sit at the computers all the time. I do understand that the games are interesting and once you start to play, you will never want to stop it. Actually the gamers really need t go outdoors, relax their eyes and do some exercises. It really works for them to improve their fitness and be away from the diseases.

Last, Choose the appropriate related accessories. This suggestion may sound irrelevant to keep healthy. Let's take the handheld console for example. We all know the Nintendo DS. The young generation love it every much. Since we can carry the little box everywhere, we can play it once we have some free time. But you have to spend more time on storing these games so that you can keep on playing next time, which indirectly prolong gamers' playtime. Good game accessories will indirectly benefit our health. For me, I think the R4I Gold Plus card is a good choice for those handheld console lovers. The R4I Gold Plus card is equipped with independent upgraded written card, which makes the update thoroughly beyond the restrains from the principal machine. In addition, this card also has a lot of functions. It can support the card software of WIFI update online.

In a word, no matter how a video game is funny and attracts you, you should put your health in the first place. Staying up is not very available for gamers. Gamers are bound to take care of themselves while they are playing games. Relaxing themselves and keeping good health in the games is the best ending!

As a game lover, I'm interested in all kinds of games, handheld game consoles and the related accessories. Here, I sincerely recommend the R4I Gold Plus card to you. With this amazing card, your game time will become more enjoyable and smooth.

Rise of Nations: Rushing Tips

This is for all gamers who play Rise of Nations (and/or Thrones and Patriots). One of the most effective strategies is rushing early on in the game. I shall put it down with pros and cons that I have experienced in the last 18 months of playing the game.

What is a rush?

A rush is done by immediately launching into an attack and striking the opponent before he realizes what just happened. He might be building the 5th farm, getting ready to age, and boom! in comes your army from the darkness and takes his capital. Yeah... that's what I am talking about.

How is it done?

Pretty simple really. It's one of the oldest tricks in the book.

Research Mil1 (some civs already come with this, you are lucky then). An alternate is to go Sci1, Mil1 (but I feel you end up losing precious timber)
Start scouting and build 2-3 villies and put at least one on farming.

Build a barrack and start churning out Heavy Infantry (HI). Use the scout on auto, and HI created on micro to search for more ruins. Fastest way to build your resources.

Build at least 4 HI and start heading towards the general direction of your opponents capital. Ignore other cities, you will get to those later. If you are not able to find the capital, then only go for other cities.

Keep the unit queue in your barracks active. I aim for 6HI + 2LI (light infantry to take out archers). For speed you can do 5HI + 1LI as well.
The minute you find the capital, use all soldiers to attack the capital. Beware of towers and archers.

Keep an eye out for the opponent's barracks. If you have been fast enough, then he should be constructing it right now. Use one HI to tear the construction down (but this is not your priority, the capital is).

That should do, you will get the capital sack (+500 resources). If you think that you can hold onto this city (i.e if you have suffered minimal damages, then continue churning more LI (2-3) and some bowmen. Then age. If you think you are going to lose the city, then start razing resources (timber first, farms next, temple, market, university in that order)

Counter

You can counter a rush. Here's how -

Go Mil1 and build a barracks.

Build a tower behind your capital. With behind I mean, keep the capital between the tower you build and the direction from which you most expect the attack from.

In the barracks build 1-2 archers.

Focus on booming and aging to the next age. Post which the first research should be attrition in the tower

Pros

If done properly, you can now use the existing resources as a launchpad for the next opponent. I have seen players do double and triple rushes even taking out 3 players in a go.

War happens far away from your capital leaving you with a busy resource churning capital. In the least it cripples the opponent and makes him ultra-paranoid.

Cons

If countered well, you are left with a crippled economy and defenseless. It takes a good player to come out of this situation. If you are attacked by another player when your army is attacking someone else, then its bye-bye capital and without a city almost immediate loss.

In the screenshot I have attached, I was playing a 1-1 Arena match against a Tough comp (piece of cake). I started out with enough resources and a good civ (Turks - faster assimilation). I was not able to find the capital, so I took the city I could find (see the minimap). Then I got to see the border of the capital and moved towards that direction. By this time the Brit had made a barrack (+1 free archers). Fortunately I had 2 slingers to take on the archers. All is well:). By the seventh minute I had taken 2 cities and game over.

StarCraft 2 1V1 Zerg Tips and Tricks

StarCraft 2

It's Friday again and you know what that means..... It's time for another article! This week I will cover: 1V1 Zerg Tips & Tricks

So let's begin!

1V1 Zerg Tips & Tricks

The three main points in this article will be:

1) Make Your Drones
2) Being Ready For A Counter-Attack
3) Keep The Pressure On

Make Your Drones

The problem with Zerg most player's strategy is that they don't plan drones in anywhere. Your drones will make or break the game for you. I have seen way too many games where the Zerg payer hasn't made enough drones and couldn't afford an army. When playing as Zerg your MAIN FOCUS should be on drones while you are on your first and second expansion. The key to a good Zerg economy is drones. Zerg need more drones than Protoss or Terran because they use them for building. Also the Zerg should have more expansions than the Terran or the Protoss. More expansions mean more drones.

Be Ready For A Counter-Attack

The Zerg are blessed with the ability that allows them to create multiple units at once by using there larvae. When attacking, the Zerg should always remember to use there larvae to create there army again to block a counter attack. With most players they will not be expecting you to be able to counter attack so fast. Most players can't adapt to that sort of play. They always counter-attack the Zerg. If you can take the counter-attack out then you can win...if they don't adapt. Make sure you attack early and keep the pressure on which brings me to my next point:

Keep The Pressure On!

The Zerg are a very good race for keeping pressure on. Because you can always make more units simultaneously, you can usually spare a pair of your lower tier units to harass your opponent. The constant attacks will apply pressure to your opponent causing mistakes to occur on his part. When your opponent is making mistakes more often because of the pressure; it makes it easier for you to take advantage of it.

Also when applying pressure to an opponent, it slowly decreases there confidence. They will be less likely to go for higher tier builds. Think about it. If you are constantly under the threat of being killed, you would want get your army as fast as possible to make sure he doesn't take over. As you can see applying pressure wins games. Try it.

WoW Gold Making Tips

Gold is good. It's the fuel for the World of Warcraft economy. It keeps you running by supplying new gear, enchants, potions, gems, mounts, etc. But do you have enough? Are your WoW Gold Making strategies keeping you rich and happy, or are you just barely holding your head above water? Well here are 10 WoW Gold making tips that are sure to bring in some extra income to give you that extra breathing room, and allow you to actually enjoy playing your game. In fact, by the time you reach level 80, there's no reason you shouldn't have 20,000 gold stashed away.

1 - Get big bags. Sounds pretty simple right, but the more you can carry, the more you can sell. It's pretty self explanatory, but so often, players are literally throwing away cash that they can be pocketing. How much bag space does gold take up? None. However, the more bag space you have, the more WoW Gold Making potential you have.

2 - Don't trash anything. This WoW Gold Making strategy kinda builds on the previous tip. Anything Gray quality can be sold to a vendor for some decent cash. If you're talking about a few copper, you can throw it away (after level 10). But typically gray quality items are worth more WoW Gold to vendors than most other items. White quality items are very deceiving. But believe it or not, many of them are actually reagents that can sell for very well on the auction house. This refers mostly to any meat, cloth, ingredients, etc. White level armor is pretty useless. Vendor it. Each increasing level of rarity (green, blue, purple) increases the Auction House value of that item. This leads me to WoW Gold Making tip #3.

3 - Install the Auctioneer addon. This is a very useful piece of information, and many people have made thousands of gold off of this WoW Gold Making tool. It tells you much more detail about every item you search for. One of the most important details displayed is the percentage on the right side. This shows all of the items that are listed by price per unit. Items closest to 100% are the closest to the market average. Lower than 100% is lower than the average, and higher priced items are way above market value and will probably not sell well. This little WoW Gold Making stat can help you reap all the profits of the auction house, if you know how to use it.

4 - Have a mule. A mule is essentially your bank and auction character. This toon is one that sits by the mailbox to either stash or sell your gear. This WoW Gold Making tip saves you a LOT of time (Time is money) since you won't have to go to a major city to empty your bags. Instead, simply mail it to your mule, who will receive it instantly. Then you can go on with your other WoW Gold Making plans.

5 - Work your professions. This is easier said than done. If you've chosen a crafting profession, then you'll have to spend a lot of time and money leveling up those skills. However, the items you produce can have a lot of value if you know how to work them. For instance, if they don't auction well, having them disenchanted for their dusts, essences, and shards can be very profitable. This is one of my favorite WoW Gold Making strategies, though I have not played on my enchanter in quite some time. If you can't disenchant the items yourself, one of your guild mates may do it for a small fee, favor, or for free.
